The Super-Touch scanners are the latest in a long line of classic scanners produced for over 20 years. During this time the scanner has proved to be ultra reliable and is our lowest price general purpose barcode scanner.

The scanners are available in two types - Light and Pro. The Pro version has more data formatting and editing features and has all the interface options build in. The Light version is USB only. The Pro has improved optics and is better able to read lower contrast barcodes.

These Super-Touch scanners can be used as a direct replacement for the AL-5820, AL-5810, Simple-Scanner, DL65, DLC6060 and similar older models. Just like these earlier models the Super-Touch scanners operate by simply being 'touched' directly on the barcode.

I have supplied many educational libraries with this type of scanner for over 20 years and while this is still the lowest priced scanner I believe there is now a better class of scanner for library use. Particularly if you have old stock with Plessey or Telepen barcodes or have a relatively high throughput. Contact me direct for details.

Most people buy the standard width scanner (65mm) able to read barcodes with a maximum width of 63mm. The Super-Touch can be obtained with a wider body (90mm) and this can read barcodes up to 80mm wide. However if you need to read barcodes wider than 60mm one of the newer non-contact scanners is likely to be a better choice - ask me for advice.

While most people prefer a USB interface. Other interfaces (KeyWedge and RS232) are still available if you need to replace a scanner in a legacy system- just ask me.

Choose this scanner if you need to do a real job in a working environment but have a limited budget and need the lowest possible priced serious scanner.
